Our Story
Our Story
We're a group of UW students who love everything outdoors. Maddox and Lucien have been neighbors since first grade, and have somehow been following each other since. Lucien sailed on the same team as Owen in middle school and high school. They have been friends ever since, but have only recently been adventuring together. Lucien and Maddox met Cody on their second day at UW, going bowling. They bonded over their love for hiking, and were instantly friends. Maddox first encountered Isiah at a Snow Club party during freshman orientation, they struck it off straight out the gate with their shared love for the outdoors.
We decided to make a blog to document our adventures, for ourselves, our families, and the community. Husky High Routes is where we post all our outdoor activities together, whether it's a car-to-car of Glacier Peak, a ski tour in the North Cascades, or an epic off trail backpack, it goes here. This blog is meant to both be a memoir of our adventures, but also be informative to the community with detailed documentation for each of our trips (along with sick photos!). We hope everyone will enjoy this page as much as we do.
Isiah
Isiah
Isiah is studying aerospace engineering and is an avid fan of bonking in the mountains. As an avid supporter of "the interval" he loves rejuvenating 10-second breaks. He lives for adrenaline, fruit snacks, tailgating, and skipping songs while driving (in that order).

Cody
Cody
Cody is a physics and astronomy student who loves the intersection between theory and real-world application. Outside the classroom he is an avid runner, backpacker, and mountaineer, who brings the same curiosity and steady drive from the mountains to research. He's known in the group for his love of uphill and horrendous time estimates.
Lucien
Lucien
Lucien is an aerospace engineering student who loves spending time outside. From skiing, backpacking, and mountaineering, he finds a sense of calm and relaxation in the mountains, even while out of breath and swearing he will never take another step outdoors. When he's not out in the backcountry, he loves to spend time taking photos and sailing competitively.
Maddox
Maddox
Maddox is always down to chase a dumb line, bushwhack for hours, or link up too many peaks to see if it goes. As long as it's a possibility, it's worth a try! He’s known for packing way too many snacks (mostly for Isaiah), pitching slightly chaotic route ideas, and spending his non-mountain time fixing gear he broke, planning the next trip, or playing with plankton for his marine bio degree.
Owen "PENE"
Owen "PENE"
Owen is better known by his nickname, Pene. His outstanding bravery in putting up the Pene's Fent Free Zone possible has saved lives. He constantly lives nut free, as he is very allergic to peanuts. He is also very allergic to being healthy. The picture to your left shows his typical outfit to bed.
